Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant put forward his latest claim for this season’s MVP award after an incredible three game stretch that earned him Western Conference Player of the Week honours.

Durant carried the Thunder to a 3-0 record for the week (all road victories), averaging a league-leading 40.3 points per game, adding 11.7 rebounds (fourth in the Western Conference) and 6.0 assists (10th) for good measure. During his three-game week, Durant also shot 51.4% from the field and 54.2% from deep.

The MVP front-runner scored at least 35 points, grabbed at least 11 boards and dish at least five assists in each game, capping off the week with a 51-point, 12-rebound, seven-assist performance against the Toronto Raptors, nailing a buzzer-beating three-pointer to win the game in double overtime.

The award marks the sixth time Durant has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week this season – the most of any player this season – and his 18th selection for the award of his career.
