Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love and Charlotte Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker have been named Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games between February 18th and 23rd.
Kevin Love led the Timberwolves to a 2-1 record over the week, including a dominant 42-point and 16-rebound performance in a 13-point win over the Indiana Pacers, and recording his first career triple-double in a 17-point win of the Utah Jazz.
On the way to receiving his second Western Conference Player of the Week award for the season, Love averaged 36.7 points (first in the West), 12.7 rebounds (third), 3.7 assists and one steal per game, while shooting 57.1% from the floor, 46.4% from three and 86.2% from the line.
Love had a double-double in each game – leads the league with 47 overall this season – and drained 13 threes over three games.

Feb. 19 vs Indiana: 42 points (14-22 FG, 5-10 3FG and 9-10 FT), 16 rebounds, one assist and one steal in a 103-91 win.
Feb. 22 @ Utah: 37 points (11-20 FG, 6-10 3FG and 9-10 FT), 12 rebounds, 10 assists and one steal in a 121-104 win.
Feb. 23 @ Portland: 31 points (11-21 FG, 2-8 3FG and 7-9 FT), 10 rebounds and one steal in a 97-108 loss.
Kemba Walker kickstarted a four-game winning streak for the Bobcats during the week, highlighted by a 24-point, 16-assist and 5-rebound performance in a 17-point win over conference rivals Detroit.
Through the four wins, Walker averaged 22.5 points (10th in the East), 8.8 assists (third), 5.5 rebounds and one steal per game, on 41.8% field goal shooting, 34.6% from deep and 86.2% from the stripe.
The award is the first of Walker’s three-year career.
