According to CSN Northwest, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers has accepted an invitation from the league to participate in the 2014 NBA Dunk Contest at All-Star weekend in New Orleans.
Lillard is already scheduled to appear in the Rising Stars Challenge and All-Star game, but will reportedly also compete in the Dunk Contest, defend his title in the Skills Competition and has been invited to take part in the three-point contest.
Per CSN Northwest:
The NBA has broached Lillard with an attractive, unprecedented opportunity. They’ve asked him to consider the Three-Point Shooting Contest as well, another source relayed to CSNNW.com.
So far, the reining Rookie of the Year is committed to defending his Skills Challenge title; he’s competing in the Dunk Contest, the Rising Stars Challenge and the All-Star game.
If Lillard does in fact accept each of the league’s invites, he will become the first player to participate in all five events in one weekend.
The NBA will announce the competitors for each event tomorrow.
